SMBC Rail Services, LLC is led by an exceptional management team consisting of railcar leasing professionals with an average of over 20 years of transportation experience. The railcar leasing business is extremely relationship-driven, and much of the Company’s success is attributable to the relationships that its professionals have built over their respective careers. Eugene T. Henneberry, President and CEO

Mr. Henneberry is responsible for overseeing all strategic, operational and financial aspects of Rail Services. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Henneberry spent 10 years with GE Rail Services. At GE Rail Services, Mr. Henneberry was Executive Vice President of Operations and Six Sigma Quality, responsible for the overall supply base, acquisition of new equipment, GE-owned repair shops and all operationsrelated activities of the business. Before joining GE in 1997, Mr. Henneberry spent 14 years with McDonnell Aerospace in St. Louis where he held various manufacturing and quality positions, including Group Manager of Supplier Quality Assurance for Major Subcontractors, Electro / Hydra / Mechanical & Detail Part Suppliers, Superintendent of the In Service Aircraft Support Center and Senior Engineer of Nondestructive Testing. Mr. Henneberry holds an MBA from Maryville University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Webster University with a Minor in Material Science & Nondestructive Testing. Mr. Henneberry currently serves on the American Association of Railroads Advisory Committee. He is a member of the American Society for Quality as a Certified Quality Manager, member of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing & McDonnell Douglas NDT Level III, Registered ISO 9000 Lead Assessor, and Co-author of AS9000, the Aerospace ISO 9000 requirement.

Tina Beckberger, Vice President of Portfolio Management

Tina Beckberger joined SMBC in 2016 and is responsible for overall portfolio strategy, pricing and secondary market transactions.  Prior to joining SMBC, Tina spent 16 years at General Electric and the majority of her time with the GE Rail Services business.   She has previously held a variety of operations, quality, asset management and marketing roles.  Most recently, Tina was with Wells Fargo Rail as Vice President of Business Intelligence and led the Product Management team.  Tina holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

Michael McCarthy, Senior Vice President, Leasing

Mr. McCarthy is responsible for the implementation of Direct Market sales strategies as well as the management of the customer service team. His previous role at SMBC Rail was VP, Portfolio Management. The majority of Mr. McCarthy's 20+ year career has been spent in the railcar leasing industry, where he has worked for well-known lessors, including Flagship Rail Services/AIG Rail Services, GE Capital - Rail Services and GATX Corporation. Mr. McCarthy also worked at Merrill Lynch Capital, where he was VP of Financial Planning and Analysis. Mr. McCarthy holds an MBA in Finance from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Marquette University.

Mark DePaul,
Vice President, Leasing Northeast

Mark DePaul serves the Northeast region of the United States. Prior to joining SMBC Rail, Mark spent five years working in Rail Logistics for CN Rail. Mark has experience in the transportation and Logistics industry with twenty years working for Class I Railroads Conrail, Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, and CN Rail in various Marketing and Sales responsibilities. Mr. DePaul holds an MBA from Philadelphia University and is a graduate of Villanova University earning a BS in Business Administration.

Dan Mazzarini,
Vice President, Leasing North Central

Dan has over forty years in transportation and distribution industries, most recently with American Railcar Leasing. Prior to ARL, Dan was with Union Tank Car, Leaseway Transportation, and American Car Foundry (ACF). He has extensive experience in sales, leasing, marketing, and manufacturing. Dan has a BS degree in Business Administration/Industrial Management from West Virginia University, and an MBA (Accounting concentration – with honors) from Roosevelt University. Dan and his wife reside in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Louis Muldrow,
Vice President, Leasing Southeast

Louis Muldrow is based in Jacksonville, FL and serves the Southeast region of the United States. Prior to joining SMBC Rail, Louis was founder and principal consultant at RailGistics LLC, a rail-centric transportation and logistics consulting firm. Louis has additional experience in the transportation and logistics industry with twenty-three years working for Class I railroad, CSX Transportation, in various sales, marketing and finance responsibilities. Mr. Muldrow holds BBA and MBA degrees from University of Kentucky.

Jonathan Mudronja,
Vice President, Leasing Midwest

Jon has over seven years of experience in the Rail industry, and represents the firm with shippers and rail customers in the Midwest region. Previously, he was with Sumitomo Corporation of America/Standard Steel. He is a member of the Midwest Association of Rail Shippers, and has traveled extensively. Jon holds a BA in Japanese with a Business Minor from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from Indiana University.

Bill Ratcliff,
Vice President, Leasing South Texas

Bill Ratcliff is responsible for the Houston, San Antonio and Florida market.  Prior to joining SMBC Rail, Bill spent nine years  as a Senior Account Manager with GE Rail, and prior to that he was with Trinity Rail, responsible for both leasing and sales of new equipment for fifteen years.  Mr. Ratcliff  holds a BBA degree from Baylor University, in Management and Economics.

Kevin Wingate,
Vice President of Leasing Southwest

Kevin brings over fifteen years of Rail industry experience to his role providing commercial representation to customers in the Southwest US. His past affiliations include Standard Car Truck, Watco Companies, and A. Stucki Company. Kevin is a member of the Southwest Association of Rail Shippers and the Houston Transportation Professionals Association. Kevin holds a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Jerry Finan, Vice President, Leasing Northwest

Jerry has over twenty years of experience in the Rail industry, and represents the firm with shippers and rail customers in the Northwest region. Jerry spent over 10 years with Union Pacific Railroad, serving in various capacities in Marketing and Sales. He has also served in as Transportation Manager at Gavilon Grain and had Business Development responsibilities with the Musket Corporation. Jerry holds a BS in Business Administration from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS. Jerry resides in Omaha, NE with his wife and two sons.

Craig Carpenter,Vice President, Leasing Canada – West

Craig Carpenter is responsible for the Canadian marketplace with SMBC Rail’s Canadian subsidiary. Craig has over twenty years’ experience in the transportation and logistics industry, starting his career at Canadian Pacific Railway in sales and operations. In 2008 Craig left the railway joining Lafarge Canada’s logistics team, before moving into the oil and gas industry in 2011. He held a number of logistics and operational roles with Elbow River Marketing and Gibson Energy. Mr. Carpenter holds a Bachelor of Management from University of Lethbridge with a major in Finance.

Erica Ray, Vice President, Leasing Canada – East

Erica Ray is responsible for the eastern Canada marketplace with SMBC Rail’s Canadian subsidiary.   Erica has over 15 years of rail industry experience. Prior to joining SMBC Rail, she worked at Mitsui Rail Capital leading the sales and marketing activities for the Pacific Northwest, Northeast, Midwest, and Canada as a Director of Sales and Marketing. Erica served 10 years at Norfolk Southern Railway with roles in Finance, Engineering and Sales & Marketing departments.  She has worked on high-profile projects such as PTC and Marcellus Utica Shale developments.  Erica holds a BBA from Georgia State University.
